Dear Canadian Reid Graduate,
Over the recent years there have been a number of negative Canadian media reports referencing The Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation, oftentimes in regards to the issue of false confessions. In all of the stories they have attributed interview tactics and procedures to the Reid Technique that we do not teach, and, in fact, teach not to do. The core elements of The Reid Technique have been upheld by a number of Canadian Courts, including the Supreme Court. Here is a brief discussion of several relevant cases:
